DUCK LABELS BARTLETT TOWN HALL A DISSAPPOINTMENT

Bartlett Town Hall Long On Political Speeches, Short On Veterans Issues

(FREDERICK, MD) – Today, Andrew Duck, Democratic Candidate in Maryland’s 6th Congressional District, labeled Roscoe Bartlett’s veteran’s town hall a “disappointment.” The town hall was not focused on veteran’s issues, rather political praise for Bartlett and a stay the course message in Iraq from Veterans Affairs Secretary James Nicholson.
“Since I began this campaign eighteen months ago, people throughout the district have told me how Roscoe Bartlett stopped listening years ago,” Duck explained. “The forum today was an absolute disappointment for the veterans in this district who have real concerns. Today was just another indication Bartlett is failing us.”

The Town Hall began with Bartlett staff praising his work in Congress followed by Secretary James Nicholson admonishing the American people not to lose their “backbone” in Iraq, noting that “staying the course” in Iraq was the only possible solution.

The 105-minute town hall included less than 35 minutes of Q & A with veterans.

Andrew Duck is a native Marylander and 20 year Army veteran who served in Iraq and Bosnia. He currently serves as an intelligence advisor for Northrop Grumman. Andrew lives with his wife Whitney in Brunswick. They have three children and a grandchild on the way.
