- Duck Campaign Fundraising Outpaces Challenger Ten Fold
July 26, 2010
The latest campaign financial reporting data for the Sixth District U.S. House race reveals that Andrew Duck is outpacing his challenger, Casey Clark, by a factor of ten. According to Duck campaign Treasurer, Charles Bartley, "This surge in campaign donations demonstrate that Andrew's message on the issues is resonating with Democrats, Independents and moderate Republicans accross Maryland's Sixth District. Individuals, small businesses and organizations, who disagree and have been disappointed with how Roscoe Barlett has represented the District are looking to Andrew to bring a new voice to Congress"

Congressional candidate and Iraq War veteran Andrew Duck won the straw poll of the Western Maryland Democratic Caucus by a vote of 58 to 40, over competitor J. Casey Clark, Jr.
“That’s a landslide.” stated Herb Smith, Professor of Political Science at McDaniel College, who was attending the caucus. “In American politics, anything over 55 percent is a landslide.” “I’m grateful for the vote of confidence.” said Mr. Duck, “We have been working hard in Western Maryland to bring more people into the political process. We will continue to build on the progress we have already made.”
The straw poll was conducted as part of the Western Maryland Democratic Summit which was conducted this weekend at the Rocky Gap Resort in Flintstone. A debate between the two candidates was one of the events at the summit, which also included workshops on party building methods and speeches from numerous party leaders. Speakers at the summit included Congressman Mike Honda (D-CA), Gov. Martin O’Malley, Sen. Barbara Mikulski, Sen. Ben Cardin, Comptroller Peter Franchot, and Attorney General Doug Gansler.
